Jody Battaglia

I started designing and making toys in 1979. First, it was teddy bears only, but then they needed some friends to play with. They are all made by me at home in Marietta, Georgia. What inspires me are old children's book illustrations, vintage holiday and old toys.

My soft sculptures are made of mohair, wool felt and velveteen. Most are fully articulated -- the editions are small in number as I'm always ready to start the creative process again. My pieces are little because of my belief that a toy should fit into a child's hand. I truly love fun little things and I hope you do also.
