Welcome to the new Sue Pearson Blog

Sue Pearson with her son Jasper in their new Lewes shop

My name is Sue Pearson and I have collected and sold teddy bears for more years than I care to remember. I have written books and travelled to many parts of the world meeting a great variety of interesting teddy people.

My son Jasper and I are very happy in our new shop in Lewes, it has been very exciting getting it all together finding lovely old antique pieces to display our bears. Very importantly finding some comfy chairs for our customers to relax while deciding on their new bear, and enjoying a cup of coffee.

Our shop has a lovely old world atmosphere and in my next blog I will tell you about our exciting historical discovery.

We have been very busy through the summer, it has been so nice to welcome many of our regular collectors and also meeting new customers. The resident of Lewes have made us and our bears very welcome!

    Hi Sue and Jasper

What a good idea, can’t wait to read your stories from around the world. I met you in Brighton a few years ago now when I bought Wooster, a vintage Steiff – he really enjoys it up here in Cheshire!

    Hi Sue and Jasper,

Lovely to be able to read your blog, as well as check out the website for your wonderful oldies. I started bear collecting after discovering my mother’s old bear and her other soft animals. Her very old bear was a first birthday gift to her in 1918 and travelled from Wales, then between Montreal and Grand Pre, Manitoba for several summers, and thence to Ontario, where he still resides, spiffed up and happy, along with lots of Canadian artist bears, a few Steiff and two elderly Merythoughts I found at an antiques fair. I hope one day to visit your shop and see your current crop of oldies in the fur! Best wishes, Jo-Anne

    Good Luck with your blog.

    Best Wishes to you both,
    Pauline

Good luck with the blog and your new shop in Lewes. We always enjoyed visiting your shop in the lanes before moving to Vancouver Island. It’s great out here, but there are no quality bear shops. We hope to visit the UK again in 2011 so look forward to seeing you then.

    All the best,

    Andrew
