His coat is crafted from incredibly dense, luxurious alpaca fur and his engaging face features shiny black eyes. He is beautifully detailed with a black hand stitched nose and subtle hand applied airbrushed accents.
The Polar Cub marks several firsts for Steiff. This is the first time Steiff has pellet-filled a bear in this manner: not only is the lower body weighted, each individual paw is also pellet-filled. The foot paws also feature a new, two-piece, black felt design. And for the crowning touch... inset ultra suede claws on every paw! As with all Toy Shoppe exclusives, we focus on bringing the collector a unique Steiff edition treasured both for its beautiful design and appeal as well as the added value of having a special place in Steiff history.
Polar Cub is a small limited edition of 1000 pieces available only at The Toy Shoppe and Sue Pearsons.
Recently the Berlin Zoo’s baby polar bear (named Knut) was featured in the news when his mother rejected him. Public support for Knut has been tremendous. Steiff has taken a prominent role in helping to raise awareness for Knut and this magnificent species worldwide.
