We are pleased to announce a very special upcoming collection of Goldilocks & the Three Bears! One of the all-time favorite childhood stories, it tells the tale of a little girl renowned for her golden locks. While on an errand for her Mother one day, Goldilocks strayed far into the woods and discovered a well-appointed cottage with no one home. Out of curiosity, she entered and spied three bowls of porridge set out on the table. She tasted each and finding the smallest bowl's contents just right, she quickly gulped it down. She then tried out the three chairs and settled on the smallest breaking the seat through! Feeling sleepy, she ventured upstairs where she sampled the three beds. The smallest was so comfortable, she soon fell fast asleep. The occupants of the cottage, a family of three bears named Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear, returned to discover that someone had been in their home. Baby Bear was most distressed to find his porridge eaten, his chair broken, and after searching upstairs, a small girl asleep in his bed! Awakening with a start to see the Three Bears standing around her bed, Goldilocks bounded out of the cottage and ran safely home.

Goldilocks & the Three Bears from R. John Wright was specially commissioned by Puffin Publishers in the U.K. for an exciting new photo storybook by award-winning author Lauren Child. The doll and bears were carefully designed to be posed inside a fully-furnished custom-made cottage. The photographs were taken in a real woodland setting by acclaimed photographer, Polly Borland. "Goldilocks" is expected to reach bookstores in November, 2008. R. John Wright's Goldilock's doll is constructed of the finest all wool felt. She measures 12 1/4" tall and is fully jointed for playful posing. Goldilocks premieres a completely new face sculpt with delicately hand painted features. Her golden curls are made of fine imported mohair and her sculptural, childlike hands are sewn with individual fingers. Goldilocks is dressed in a cotton summer dress with a hand smocked bodice and dainty Swiss embroidered trim. She wears custom made stockings, fine cotton undergarments, and hand cobbled red leather shoes. On one arm is a custom woven basket filled with handmade felt daisies.

Goldilocks will be produced in an edition limited to 350 pieces. Each will come enclosed in a deluxe RJW presentation box with the accompanying signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. As part of the Goldilocks & the Three Bears Collection, matching numbers will be available to the bears in the series below #250.

THE THREE BEARS

The Three Bears will be made of the finest custom-made mohair plush with sculpted felt paw pads with resin claws, and internal growlers. Each bear will feature German glass pupil eyes and a molded leather nose. Baby Bear will measure 8" tall and will come wearing a short felt jacket for his walk in the woods. Mama Bear will measure 14" and will feature interior jointing in her wrists. She will wear a beautiful embroidered felt capelet for outdoors. Papa Bear will measure 15" and will also feature the interior wrist movement. He will have an open mouth with felt tongue and inserted resin teeth. Papa Bear will be outfitted in a detailed corduroy vest with leather buttons and a felt Tyrolean-style hat. In one pocket of his vest will be a custom-made carved wooden pipe! The Three Bears will be produced in a limited edition of 350 matching number sets. Sets numbered below #250 will also be matched to Goldilocks.
