Wilfred rabbit was a cartoon character in the English Daily Mail newspaper from 1919 to 1956. Originally Pip, Squeak and Wilfred was the affectionate name given to a set of WW1 campaign medals often awarded together. They then took this name for the characters in the cartoon, Pip the dog , Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the rabbit. See Wikipedia. Farnell made these characters in the 1920's, this Wilfred is in excellent condition, wonderful thick mohair with no restoration, but missing his whiskers on one side! Height to top of ears 18 inches.
